Third Friday promises to be exciting as well and if you missed First Friday, you still have a chance to see the show! The gallery will open to the public at 5pm on April 17th.
Also, please feel free to attend the Artist Reception on Saturday Afternoon, April 18th beginning at 1pm. There will be refreshments.
Summary of the Show:
“BlackOut” is a collection of appropriated vintage images from her early childhood in the 1980s and early 1990s. As the viewer sees this series, there will be a realization that a young child is removed from each picture and replaced by a dark silhouette of what was there-the artist herself of when she was little girl. This process of deleting herself from these photographs actually explores topics of recollection, documentation, family relationships, and race.Exhibit dates: April 3rd – 25th
