Programs and Events Coordinator

826 Valencia is looking for a full-time Programs and Events Coordinator. The position involves a combination of development work, program planning, and operations management. The Programs and Events Coordinator will work closely with-and report directly to-the Executive Director.

Duties:
Major responsibilities:
Internship program management, including recruitment, training, and day-to-day mentorship of 10-12 interns per season
Coordination of all public relations, including press inquiries, online presence, and community partnerships

Planning and execution of all special events from concept creation to final details

Assistance with volunteer training and coordination

Administrative support, including human resources, facilities, and supplies

Requirements:
Minimum qualifications:
A deep commitment to and understanding of the 826 mission

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills


Proven organizational and project management skills

Experience managing or mentoring others

Enthusiasm for working with people of all backgrounds and ages


Preferred qualifications:
Fluency in Spanish

At least 2-3 years experience in the field of education and/or nonprofit work

Event planning and/or fundraising experience

Website design and/or content management skills

Salary is commensurate with experience.
