Department of Anthropology, Assistant Professor, with focus on African American Studies
Requirements: The Department of Anthropology and the African American Studies and Research Center at Purdue University seek applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a tenure home in Anthropology beginning August 2011. A Ph.D. in Anthropology is required at the time of appointment. Areas of specialization should complement current faculty interests. Desired specializations include, but are not limited to, peoples of the African Diaspora, identity politics, critical race theory, African religious traditions, environmental injustice, health and health disparities, and their applied approaches. The position will require conducting original research, undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring, as well as participation in departmental and university outreach and service activities. We encourage applicants who have experience teaching and mentoring diverse students.
