my own pettiness

Why is it bugging me that blogs with much higher traffic than mine whose authors have visited this page are garnering more feedback for posts on topics I mentioned early last month? Yeah, I know, it's not about me and I'm truly glad the film is getting much more attention, as it should, and of course it could simply be a coincidence and those bloggers learned of it independently, but I'm feeling grumpy today and it's irking me. Kinda like when I sent some info to another blog whose author promptly posted it but never acknowledged my e-mail. We all like a little "hey thanks" out here.

You are not being petty Carla, trust me that post was appreciated. In fact, what you do is fantastic. I was just talking to my sis about your blog and telling her about yesterday's post (been working on a workshop booklet, so totally stressed out, would have responded, blah blah blah). I came in to look at it again and saw this. I felt the same way about my blog but you know I just keep writing. What you posted really inspired me to look at the images of women that I grew up with and that is a good thing. I appreciate you, I really do. I'll keep posting on your blog. The rape thing threw me for a loop.

I second Lynn's emotion Carlagirl. I read you, appreciate you, and have even posted a time or two before. I find that there is some hierarchy as to who will and will not respond to your e-mail messages or blogs. I am on a few lists where I can say something and no one will respond. Then a "preferred member" will speak and everyone has something to say. Membership has its privileges for some I suppose. Anyway, I interpret the silence on your blog as an example of you blowing folks away. Keep bloggin' and we will too.

What does it take to get folks to be critically engaged? It's real easy to get connected to the dumb crap. People might actually have to DO something if heaven forbid they use their brains and THINK.
