A Girl Like Me

I posted about this amazing short film by Kiri Davis when I first saw it months ago. Since it's deservedly gotten much attention on the web and is now on YouTube, I'm adding it to my site.

Wow, Carla. Thanks so much for sharing this. These young women were so amazing. I loved listening to them.

I must admit that seeing and hearing those children speak about the dolls and which one was "good" or "bad" and why, made me cry. It absolutely broke my heart.

Thank you so much! I forwarded this to every woman I knew plus I make an effort to reassure black women and girls that I come across that we are valued. It is just outrageous to think in the 21st century this is what our children are being taught about themselves!!! I think Kiri Davis is very courageous to once again create dialogue amongst ourselves and share our perspective to the world. I am so very proud of our young Black youth...so very proud! By the way you are saved to my Favorites...I like what you have to say.
