ummm, no
You can't make this stuff up, people. From Jasmyne Cannick's blog (she's got all kinds of links and contact info for protesting his upcoming "performance"at the lesbian-owned The Factory in West Hollywood):
As reported before, Charles Knipp is a white man who performs racially offensive material in drag and blackface. He describes his character Shirley Q. Liquor as an “inarticulate black welfare mother with 19 children.” While in blackface as Liquor, Knipp speaks in Ebonics and makes comments like “axe your mamma how she durrin” and misuses words like “ignunt.”
Oddly, RuPaul is reportedly a fan. Shame, RuPaul. I had heard about this person before but her post is so well-detailed it's worth checking out.

This is a hot mess & he sounds like a sista. I find it somewhat funny but would not spend my money to see it.
Black comedians make fun of white people all of the time (to be devil's advocate).
I am not sure if this is something to get all worked up about to protest.
white people shouldn't do anything. ever.
See this is the thing, Bygbaby--I haven't seen a single black woman say, yeah, you know he's got us down cold! All across this debate white people and men are weighing in but, you know, he's not stereotyping you. Besides, "making fun of" is a far cry from donning blackface (and Eddie Murphy as Jew/Asian/whomever is just as offensive).
And I think there should be waaaaay more protest in our culture--we protest virtually nothing! I think it's fair to say to an establishment "if you want to promote this kind of performance I will not patronize you and will do everything in my power to see that no one I know patronizes you." There's no greater vote in our capitalist system than with our dollars.
I feel you Carla, view points are mos def on point.
I think as a people we fall for just about anything & stand up for not much until it is too late.
