i love this project

The Laundromat Project is looking for artists of color to mount public art projects at their local laundries. Do you know a gifted artist humble enough to create work in service of community? Adventurous enough to mount a project at their corner coin-op? Sweet enough to work with us? (we’re nice people who frown on primadonna-dom). If you or anyone you know sounds like a match please help us spread the word...

CALL FOR PROPOSALS: Create Change 2007

Create Change is a public artist residency that connects artists and communities of color in meaningful projects that place art in the context of everyday living. As a Create Change artist you will:

- produce a site-specific, socially relevant installation at your local laundromat

- increase your visibility in your own community

- inspire your neighbors to get involved in your creative process

The Create Change program runs from May 15, 2007 – October 31, 2007. Participating artists receive a $1000 stipend and a smaller budget for materials.
PROPOSALS DUE APRIL 2, 2007.
