I understand that Malcolm Shabazz is troubled. How could he not be given the history behind his grandmothers death (among other things). Still, I'm bothered by these photographs on so many levels. And the idea that people should know this guy and his history because he's representative of young Black men in America doesn't really fly. What stands out for me is the opportunistic pimping of Malcolm X's image. I would have to reseach the premise surrounding this project further but my first reaction is that no one involved cares about this guy or young Black men.
